CULTURAL HISTORICAL SAFARI UGANDA (10 DAYS)
Day 1 : Arrival - Kampala
You will be warmly welcomed by a tour guide from
Trinita Safaris and transferred to your Hotel in Kampala; Kampala Serena
,Kampala Sheraton, Speke Resort (Upmarket), Hotel African, Fang Fang
Hotel (moderate), Holiday Express hotel or hotel Ruch ( budget/basic
accommodation). Bed and Breakfast.
Day 2 : Kampala - Semliki
The day will commence with a briefing by your safari
guide after your breakfast and you set off heading west from Kampala
through Mubende to see the famous Nakayima tree then proceed to Semliki
Valley (Garden of Eden), via Fort portal, this gives you a view of the
River Semliki which flows into lake Albert, to go with are the neatly
planted tea plantations and a view of the glacial peaks of the
Ruwenzori. Have a picnic lunch at the hot water springs. Visit local
farmers/farms in the area and retire for dinner and overnight sleep at
Semuliki Safaris Lodge .Full Board.
Day 3 : Semliki Valley
On this day of your safari, you will go for a game
drive before proceeding to the hot springs. After lunch, visit the
pygmy community and enjoy the cultural entertainment and experience the
warmness of the Ugandan people. Thereafter you will return to
Fortpartal for dinner and overnight at either Mountains of the moons
hotel (up marketluxurious accommodation), or Rwenzori travelers inn
(Low budget/basic accommodation). Full board.
Day 4 : Fort Portal
On this day of the Uganda cultural safari, you will drive
to the Toro King's palace after breakfast then the Royal tombs and amabere
caves and a short nature walk. Retire to the lodge in the evening.
Day 5 : Kibale chimp tracking
Your day after breakfast will start by driving to
Kibale Forest National Park famous for its habituated Chimpanzees - it
is a home to an amazing 13 species of Primates being the highest total
for any National parks in Uganda and the world! Here on a guided walk,
you may find families of Chimps, vervet and Red Colobus monkeys.
On an afternoon guided walk, you will walk through
the Bigodi Swamp. Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is home to roughly 355
bird species and is managed by the Kibale Association for Rural and
Environmental organisation formed in 1992 with the aim of achieving
social and economic development for local communities. And you will
encounter species including the Snowy Headed Robin Cat, Black and White
Casqued Hornbill, Emerald Cuckoo and a variety of Weavers, Warblers,
Green-breasted pitta and Sunbirds. There's also an abundance of
Butterflies. It's also rich in vegetation, such as wild palms, polita
figs and the dominant papyrus. Dinner and overnight at Primate lodge
(Medium accommodation), Chimp
guest house (Low budget/basic accommodation).Full board.
Day 6 : Kibale - Lake Mburo National Park
On this day of the cultural tour, you will drive to
Lake Mburo National Park for the Ankole Culture mainly known for long
horned cattle keeping passing via Queen Elizabeth National Park. Lake
Mburo Harbours several species not easily observed else where in
Uganda. It is the only park to support the population of Impala from
which Kampala city derives her name, Burchells, Zebra, topi, bushbuck, common
duiker, oribi, Defassa water buck and reedbuck. The vegation also
supports a healthy population of buffalos, warthogs, wild pigs and hippos, in
the swamps, you may see the sitatunga antelope.You will also be able to see the
farmous Ankole cattle and take an evening game drive. Dinner and over
night at Mihingo Lodge (High class accommodation), Mantana Tented Camp
(mid-class) or UWA Tents (Low budget/basic accommodation). Full board.
Day 7 : Lake Mburo National Park
Spend a day with the local community, see how they
process ghee, get a chance of participating in milking cows, see how
they prepare their staple food and you return to the Camp in the afternoon.
Have a boat trip and later dinner and over night at either Mantana
Tented Camp/ Muhingo Lodge (Upper class accommodation), or UWA Park
Bandas (Low budget/basic accommodation). Full board.
Day 8 : Travel Mburo - Kampala
After a morning game drive, you will drive to Kampala
have lunch at Masaka town. Stop and stand on the equator, be in both
hemispheres at same time and there after proceed to Kampala arriving at
your Hotel in the evening. Over night at either Serena Kampala Hotel
(High class accommodation), Hotel Africana (Medium class accommodation)
or Namirembe Guest House (Low budget/basic accommodation) Bed and
breakfast.
Day 9 : Kampala - City/Cultural tour
Tour the city. Kampala being the capital city and
economic and social hub of Uganda in the heart of Buganda, visit the
city surbs and get to learn about the rich and authentic culture and the
way of life, music and dance. Take lunch and after visit the Uganda Museum,
the Bahai temple Namugongo martyrs shrine ,Kasubi and Wamala tombs and
retire in the hotel for overnight at Sheraton Kampala hotel, Kampala
Serena hotel (Up market/luxurious accommodation), Hotel Africana
(Medium class accommodation), Hotel Ruch ( low/budget accommodation)
Day 10 : Departure
You will be transferred to the airport filled with the
warmness and kindness of the people in Uganda and say good bye to the
country second British World War Prime Minister Winston Churchill was
right to call the Pearl of Africa.
