CITY AND WILDLIFE TOUR OF UGANDA - (15 DAYS)
Day 1 : Entebbe - Kampala
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport , our tour
guides will warmly welcome you and transfer you to
Kampala to Serena Kampala Hotel (Upmarket/luxurious accommodation) or
Hotel Africana (Medium/Moderate accommodation) or Holiday Express Hotel
(budget accommodation). Bed and Breakfast.
Day 2 : Kampala City
After breakfast, you will have a city tour of Kampala
. This features Kampala 's historical sites. Kampala is the capital
city of Uganda , and the social and economic hub of Uganda which was
formally built on seven hills. Today the number is more than two
dozens. Other places will include; Kasubi Tombs, which are the
traditional burial grounds of Buganda kings, Namirembe and Rubaga
cathedrals. The Namugongo martyrs shrine (famous for the execution of
Christians in 1886 by Kabaka Mwanga the King of Buganda then), Kabaka's
lake which is a man made lake, Makerere University, the Bahai temple
which is famous for its architectural design, Kibuli Mosque, and the Uganda
Museum, Craft Village, Kampala Taxi Park famous for its organized chaos
and the Nakasero Market famous for its fresh fruits. Retire for
overnight at Serena Kampala Hotel (Upmarket/luxurious accommodation) or
Hotel Africana (Medium/Moderate accommodation) or Holiday Express Hotel
or Hotel Ruch (budget accommodation). Bed and Breakfast.
Day 3 : Kampala - Jinja - Kampala
You will drive to Jinja after breakfast to visit the
source of the mighty Nile River, Bujagali falls and watch rafting on
the white waters of the Nile, Bungee jumping over the Nile and all
terrain adventure riding (this is optional). After such an adventurous
day, drive back to Kampala city for overnight at Serena Kampala Hotel
(Upmarket/luxurious accommodation) or Hotel Africana (Medium/Moderate
accommodation) or Holiday Express Hotel (budget accommodation). Bed and
Breakfast.
Day 4 : Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park
Early in the morning after breakfast drive to the
west via the green hills of Masaka, stop at the equator for photographs
while standing at both hemispheres then proceed to Lake Mburo National
Park the only park, which encloses a lake. Go for a game drive after
lunch, in the rolling hills and open grasslands. Lake Mburo harbours
several species not easily observed elsewhere in Uganda. It is a home
to a handsome impala for which Kampala is named, burchell'zebra,
Waterbuck, Eland, Zebra, Buffalo, Klipspringers, Crested Crane, and the
elusive Shoebill Stork. Dinner and overnight at Kimbla Mantana Tented
camp (Upmarket/luxury accommodation) or( Budget/Basic Rwonyo Rest
Camp).Full board.
Day 5 : Lake Mburo - Lake Bunyonyi
On this day of your wildlife tour in Uganda, you will
take breakfast then drive south to Lake Bunyonyi through the Kigezi
Highlands the "Switzerland of Africa", to Lake Bunyonyi which
is the deepest lake in Uganda and it is enclosed by 38 islands. Lunch
will be at Mbarara. The beautiful scenery of the low-lying areas will
compensate the roughness of the terrain as you also experience the
rural life with local terraced farm fields, settlements, and cultural
settings. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Overland Camp in
tastefully positioned lakeshore cottages. Full board.
Day 6 : Lake Bunyonyi
After your breakfast you will visit the forested
surroundings of Bunyonyi. Visit the local communities including the
endangered Batwa and experience the friendliness of the Uganda people.
You will return to the camp for lunch then, prepare for a boat ride in
the afternoon on a traditional boat around the lake where you will be able
to see Otters and birds like pied kingfishers and swallows. You can
also enjoy a bilharzias free-swimming experience on the lake and sun
bath. After this day's gorgeous wildlife adventure you will return for
dinner and an overnight at the camp. Full board.
Day 7 : Lake Bunyonyi - Bwindi Forest Park
Through the terraced farmland and deep valleys you
will leave Lake Buyonyi after lunch, for Bwindi Forest arriving in time
for dinner and overnight at Mantana Tented Camp (up market), Buhoma
Homestead or Buhoma Community Bandas (Budget accommodation). Full board
Day 8 : Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After breakfast you will go for a briefing by the
ranger guide to prepare you for your adventure then enter the Gorilla
sanctuary for your adventure. The area offers a dramatic steeply
forested landscape and increasingly dense vegetation crises-crossed by
numerous animal trails. Mammals here include the endangered mountain
gorillas, rare golden monkey, the Colobus monkey, buffalo and
bush-buck. The thrill of observing gorillas is a moving and exciting
adventure. It takes 4-10 hours depending on the family you are tracking
so you may carry packed lunch and water or return to your hotel for
lunch, dinner and overnight rest, after the adventure.
Day 9 : Bwindi Forest Park - Queen Elizabeth National
Park
After breakfast, drive out of Bwindi National Park
Northwards to Queen Elizabeth National park via Isasha sector of the
climbing Lions. You may see the tree climbing lions in the savanna
grasslands, and Ankole cattle grazing in the meadows. You will arrive
for lunch, Dinner and overnight accommodation at Mweya Safari Lodge (Up
market/luxurious accommodation) or Institute of Ecology (budget). Full
board.
Day 10 : Queen Elizabeth National Park
On this day, you will experience a typical African
Safari during your early morning game drive and later the boat ride
which takes place after your lunch. Both expeditions will enable you
view the various animal and bird species. The park is a home to 95
mammal species, ten primates species are present, including chimpanzee,
vervet ,blue, red-tailed and L'Hoest's monkey. black-and white colobus
and olive baboons. Around 20 predator species including hyena, lion and
leopard and antelope. You will also see elephants buffalos and hippos.
Some of the birds seen on the Kazinga channel include; the shoebillstork,
black bee-eater 11 species of kingfisher and others Falcons. In the
evening you will then return to your chosen accommodation for dinner
and overnight rest. Full board.
Day 11 : Queen Elizabeth - Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast you will leave Queen Elizabeth
National Park for Kibale Forest National Park. This tour day will give
you an opportunity to view the legendary Mountain Rwenzori and a
variety of animals and birds to go with, local homesteads thus cultural
tour of the countryside. You will stay at MantanaTented Camp or Kibale
primate lodge (Upmarket accommodation) or Rwenzori Travelers Inn
(budget accommodation). Full board.
Day 12 : Kibale Forest National Park
Kibale Forest national park is an adventure packed
affair. This rain forest offers a rich diversity of flora and fauna and
very charming to nature lovers. The park has the highest concentration
of primate in Uganda. After breakfast, a ranger guide will give you
detailed explanations on the primates, the flora and fauna and start
your search for Chimpanzees and other primates, which include the red
tailed and grey cheeked Mongabey and other primates. He will ensure
that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. This walk is
excellent for viewing birds and allows you see the primates at close
quarters as you enjoy Chimpanzees drumming on tree buttresses with
their hoots and screams. You will return later in the evening to your
accommodation for night at MantanaTented Camp or Kibale primate lodge
(Upmarket accommodation) or Rwenzori Travelers Inn (budget
accommodation). Full board.
Day 13 : Kibale Forest - Murchison Falls National Park
With your packed lunch you will leave Kibale forest
National Park and head via Masindi to Murchison Falls National Park .
Dinner will be at Paraa Safari Lodge (Upmarket) or Red Chills Camp
(Budget accommodation).Full Board.
Day 14 : Murchison Falls National Park
The amazing sounds of birds and animals in the
morning will make you realize that you are at the mighty Murchison
Falls National Park . This is a memorable experience! Take a game drive
which will enable you to see; Giraffe, elephant, lion, buffalo, and
countless antelope and birds. Later in the afternoon, you will take a
boat trip on the stretch of the Nile River to the base of the
electrifying Murchison Falls, this will give an opportunity to see some
of the largest crocodiles still left in Africa and a variety of bird
species and hippos in hundreds. Retire for overnight at Paraa Safari
Lodge (up market/luxury accommodation) or Red Chills Camp (Budget
accommodation). Full board.
Day 15 : Murchison Falls to Entebbe
Your wildlife safari was enriching, time to go home.
You will take breakfast and leave Murchison Falls via the cool breeze
of Budongo forest to Kampala/ Entebbe for lunch and later transfer to
the airport for your flight back home depending on your flight time.
