BWINDI GORILLA SAFARI (3 DAYS)

Day 1 : Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Trinita Safaris' tour guides will meet you at your Hotel and your gorilla safari commences at 7:00 am, taking you southwest to the "Switzerland" of Uganda. You will pass via the green hills of Masaka at Masaka town to Mbarara for lunch and continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On this drive you will be exposed to the beautiful scenery of south west Uganda, see the Ihimbo Hot Springs. Dinner and night sleep will be at Buhoma community Rest Camp, and Buhoma Homestead (Budget accommodation) this is ideal for people tracking gorillas in the northern part of the park or you can reside at the Gorilla forest Camp (upmarket accommodation).

Day 2 : Gorilla tracking in Bwindi gorilla forest

The search for gorillas begins early in the morning. You will be required to carry packed lunch with you, water, rain jackets. jungle boots, you should wear trousers and possibly carry a camera. Before the search commences, you will have a briefing from the park rangers about the activity and the experience thereof. This activity will give you an opportunity to enjoy the tranquility of the forest and also to see the several different monkey species. Gorilla tracking may take between 1-10 hours to encounter these peaceful primates. Thereafter a certificate will be awarded. After the marvelous adventure you will return to your lodge for the overnight.

Day 3 : Departure

Gorilla tracking in Uganda is the most exciting lifetime experience of all time. Gorilla tracking is carried out in only two national parks of Uganda; Bwindi Impenetrable national park and Mgahinga Gorilla national park.

It is a wonderful experience to stare in to the eyes of these gentle giants; watch them in awe as they play and go about their daily activities. Each encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display.

Gorilla tracking in Uganda sometimes involves walking on steep and slippery slopes and may take anywhere between 1 hour and 8 hours so a reasonable degree of fitness is required.
